All Weather Architectural Aluminum (All Weather) was named the winner of the 2023 “Workforce Heroes” award in the Large Business category by the Workforce Development Board (WDB) of Solano County, a non-profit organization that works to build and sustain a skilled workforce, support a vibrant economy, and create a shared prosperity for the community of Solano County, California.
With September being National Workforce Development month, the WDB hosted the “Celebrating Solano’s Workforce” awards night in mid-September. This prestigious annual event honors, celebrates and recognizes the ‘Workforce Heroes’ – the businesses, job seekers and employees, and community partners who support and are dedicated to building and strengthening the workforce in Solano County.
All Weather partnered with the Solano WDB to offer a 12-week paid summer internship program for young adults (ages 18-plus) exposing them to the manufacturing industry. The company also supported both the City of Vacaville and the Solano-Napa Small Business Development Center, offering a location for Vacaville’s Manufacturers Roundtable Group to meet.
The Large Business category recognizes businesses with over 25 employees that have provided opportunities that make a difference including engaging with local schools, building development and training programs and implementing programs that create pathways directly into manufacturing for high school students like All Weather’s new apprenticeship program.
All Weather was nominated for the “Workforce Heroes” award alongside other large companies including:
- Michael’s Transportation Service Inc., who has been one of the leading employers and training facility for bus transportation in Solano for over 40 years.
- The Salvation Army KROC Center, who embody the true meaning of community servants by providing services and resources to help better the lives in Solano County.
- Factory OS, who is an outstanding community business that creates a workforce environment that thrives for diverse populations.
