While renovating their traditional Boston Victorian home, husband design-duo and DIY-experts David and Stephen St. Russell sought to marry the traditional style of the Victorian home with the comforts of modern living. They had decided their home’s new Scandinavian-style kitchen clashed fundamentally with the spirit and history of the home.
When shopping for appliances, the Renovation Husbands found compact appliance limitations across the luxury appliance market. “Because of our desire for an integrated refrigerator, our options were narrowed down quickly. They tend to be made by higher-end brands, more expensive and with fewer features,” David recalls. “More than once did I ask, ‘Are you sure we can’t just go counter depth?!’ followed by Stephen denying my request in the name of design. In the end, he was correct in his decision for this project—again.”
The Renovation Husbands ultimately decided on a single brand to work with across their kitchen. The integrated appliance options allowed the husbands to combine technology with a traditional aesthetic. From the 36-inch Integrated French Door Refrigerator to the Integrated Double DishDrawer, panel installation was seamless while the appliances wow with their performance. David and Stephen opted for a 30-inch Induction Cooktop and 30-inch Wall Oven combination rather than a traditional range. The couple is now a big fan of induction cooking, which offers a more efficient and healthier way to cook, as well as easy cleanup (goodbye disassembling gas cooktops!).
