Noritz America is launching the next generation of its flagship EZ Series of residential condensing tankless water heaters. Available for immediate shipment nationwide, the upgraded EZ Series PRO range offers numerous improvements, including higher energy efficiency and Bluetooth connectivity that provides installers with a faster startup with a built-in remote. The product launch also includes a new size, the EZ71 (photo left).
All three EZ Series models, including the popular EZ98DV and the EZ111DV, will continue to carry an industry-leading 25-year warranty on both their primary and secondary stainless steel heat exchangers.
Top-mounted hot-water and cold-water connections remain critical features, helping to lessen the hassle and expense of replacing a conventional storage tank-type water heater. By not having to build new plumbing lines around the water heater, the professional installer can offer customers faster—and therefore less costly—installations with less material waste.
The EZ Series PRO also offers superior installation versatility. Any of the three models can be installed either outdoors or indoors (single-vent or direct-vent). Multiple venting options — 75 feet of 2-inch PVC or 2-inch Flex Vent — further streamline installation time and labor.
All models are compatible with the Noritz No Roof Kit, introduced in 2023. As the name indicates, this innovation eliminates an installer’s need to climb on the roof to install venting for a new water heater.
New Key Features
Greater fuel efficiency: The new EZ Series PRO line offers an improved 0.98 UEF rating, up from 0.96. This additional efficiency is intended to help home and business owners reduce their fuel bills while also generating fewer harmful emissions.
Single gas type with easy conversion: Natural gas is the default fuel on all new EZ models. But each model comes with a simple-to-use kit containing all the parts needed for conversion to liquid propane (LP).
Bluetooth connectivity for greater control, quicker startups: All EZ Series PRO models enable Bluetooth connectivity, providing users greater control over functionality. This includes setting water temperatures and deploying pump timers to quickly deliver warm water to the shower with minimal waste. To create a pump-assisted, hot-water recirculation system, installers can combine any EZ Series model with the Noritz RPK-EXT External Pump Kit, sold as a separate add-on component.
Bluetooth connectivity also allows the professional plumber to set up the heater more quickly and easily from a smartphone without flipping physical dipswitch buttons, as with previous EZ models. Once the plumber learns the app, water heater startups should be easier than ever.
New Model
The new EZ71 offers a gas consumption range of 12,800 to 160,000 Btu per hour with a maximum hot-water capacity of 6.9 gallons per minute (GPM) at a 45 F rise (the difference between the water heater’s input and output temperatures). With a capacity range of 0.4 to 9.0 GPM, the EZ71 is intended for residential and light-commercial applications involving two to two-and-a-half bathrooms.
Featuring a new, service-friendly, flangeless cover design with snap locks for quicker access, all three EZ models have the same weight (60 pounds) and physical dimensions (26.1 inches by 18.1 inches by 11.8 inches). They offer nine different temperature settings ranging from 100°F to 140°F in five-degree increments.
