Laminam, an Italian provider of large-format porcelain slabs, officially launched its new Slate Collection in North America during the Kitchen and Bath Industry Show (KBIS). An exceptional addition to its growing portfolio of premium surfaces, the new collection draws inspiration from the timeless beauty of natural metamorphic slate stone. It is crafted using Laminam’s cutting-edge technology to perfectly replicate the stone’s authentic texture and organic appearance.
Featuring a blend of earthy tones, subtle veining, and intricate details, each slab captures the natural imperfections of slate, offering a strikingly realistic surface that can be used for both interior and exterior projects. The collection is comprised of five striking colors — Alaska, Amazzonia, Ankara, Burgundy, and Vulcano — ranging from soft, light creams to rich, deep grays.
In addition to the 5-mm thickness for cladding applications and 12-mm for countertop applications, the Slate Collection also comes in Laminam’s new twO series, offering an ultra-slim 2-mm thickness, almost as thin as wallpaper but as durable as porcelain with high resistance to scratches, stains, and heat. The 2-mm slabs can be installed directly over existing tiles, making them an ideal solution for renovation projects. With exceptional versatility, the 2-mm format is perfect for vertical applications such as curved structures, walls, furniture cladding, and cabinetry fronts.
Laminam’s twO series is not only lightweight but also highly sustainable. Composed of up to 60 percent recycled and new natural minerals, the 2-mm format reduces the consumption of raw materials compared to traditional slabs. This results in a significant reduction in CO2 emissions per square foot during transportation. True to Laminam’s commitment to sustainability, the twO series is produced using eco-friendly processes, responsibly sourced materials, and a focus on minimizing environmental impact at every stage of production.
Laminam’s Slate Collection redefines the aesthetic potential of modern interiors and exteriors, offering architects, designers, and homeowners a sustainable, innovative solution with a timeless appeal.
