VanAir has released it latest innovation in interior door design – the ventilated VanAir Dual Channel Door. Engineered for commercial and residential applications requiring maximum passive air circulation, the VanAir Dual Channel Door delivers increased airflow with the addition of a vertical slot on one door face, and the increased size of the single ventilation slot on the opposing face.

The need for ventilated interior doors is essential for creating healthy living and working environments. Providing sufficient airflow in large residential and commercial spaces, and tempering heat in mechanical, server, laundry, and media rooms in an aesthetic manner is often challenging. This need led VanAir Design to engineer a new line of interior doors with an additional air channel in the door’s core, providing increased passive airflow.

The Dual Channel model of the VanAir Door is an easy-to-install solution that increases the amount of ventilation delivered by the standard, single-channel VanAir Door introduced at last year’s IBS. The airflow of the Dual Channel door is equivalent to a 15- by 15-inch louver with the benefit of superior aesthetics and improved acoustic performance.

The front side of the VanAir Dual Channel Door features two ventilation slots on the left and right side of the door. Air travels from these perimeter slots and through the core, towards the center of the door, forming two distinct channels. On the back side of the door, a single double-wide, vertical slot in the middle of the door’s face completes a Y-shaped air channel within the door’s core.

Aesthetically, the VanAir Door allows architects and interior designers to avoid unsightly vents, grills, and louvers, while meeting increased ventilation needs and stringent building codes. The new VanAir Dual Channel Door can be installed in a broad range of environments, including commercial spaces, single and multi-family residential housing, hotels, schools, and health-care facilities.

    Additional Benefits:

    • Passive air circulation from all strata of the air column.
    • As easy to install as any interior door.
    • Accepts all standard hardware, closers, and sweeps.
    • Designed to fit standard 1 3/4- and 1 3/8-inch door openings in both commercial and residential applications.
    • Suitable for hinged, pocket, double door, and sliding applications.
    • Available in painted and wood finishes.
    • Available up to 4 feet in width and 10 feet in height.
