Niftylift Celebrates Five Years in South Carolina

As Niftylift celebrates 40 years of engineering excellence and innovation globally, the mobile elevated work platform (MEWP) manufacturer is proud to mark a major milestone in the United States—five years at its facility in Greer, S.C.

Since establishing its first U.S. premises in 2005, Niftylift has seen an increase in sales of more than 4,000 percent in the region. This exceptional growth highlights Niftylift’s commitment to pairing outstanding customer support with innovative engineering to meet the evolving needs of the U.S. market.

Niftylift’s history in the U.S. goes back even further, however, as the U.S. organization Niftylift Inc., which operated at first through a dealer network, was established in 1995. Over the past three decades, Niftylift has built a strong presence in the U.S. market by prioritizing relationships. This approach has fostered a culture where trust and long-term partnership drive success.

A large part of this expansion is credited to its focus on customer support and its deep-rooted philosophy that “people like to buy from people.” Niftylift made a strategic investment in U.S. operations by purchasing land and opening a purpose-built facility in 2020. This Greer-based hub houses a highly skilled, customer-focused team that provides full-service support and spare parts for Niftylift’s full range of boom lifts.

“Our team in Greer is trusted in the industry.” said Jon Hedlund, vice president of sales for Niftylift in the U.S. “We are people who know our machines, understand our customers’ needs and are always ready to help. That connection and service-first mindset is what sets us apart.”

    Pioneering technologies

Niftylift’s dedication to customer service is matched by its pursuit of innovation. The company has earned a reputation as a trendsetter and formidable competitor by consistently introducing new technologies. From advanced telematics to hybrid power options, its equipment is designed to help rental partners and end users reduce downtime, lower emissions and operate more efficiently.

Hybrid power has become a particular area of growth in the U.S. over the last five years. As demand shifts from traditional diesel toward quieter, more environmentally friendly machines, Niftylift’s hybrid options provide a trusted solution. Popular models like the SP50N, SP50 4×4 and SP50E offer a choice of configurations — including Tier 4 Final-compliant diesel engines and hybrid systems that combine electric motors with fuel-efficient engines. A hybrid setup enables zero-emission operation in electric-only mode, making it ideal for indoor environments or areas with strict noise or emissions requirements.

“We’ve seen a real shift in the market over the last five years,” Hedlund said. “Where it was once all diesel, more customers are now asking for hybrid options. They want the performance they trust, but with lower emissions and quieter operation. Our hybrid models deliver just that.”

Niftylift’s advanced telematics platform, Niftylink, provides real-time data on machine performance, usage and location, empowering customers to make smarter operational decisions, reduce downtime and schedule proactive maintenance.

Other Niftylift power innovations include an advanced exhaust purification system that greatly reduces carbon monoxide, hydrocarbon and particulate emissions. A Diesel Re-Gen feature that recharges batteries gives a fast-charge whenever a machine is idle and the engine is running. These technologies enable Niftylift to offer a cost-effective choice, balancing power, efficiency and environmental responsibility.

“Niftylift is growing its footprint in the U.S. by combining innovative, sustainable technology with a service-first approach,” Hedlund said. “In a consolidating market, our focus remains clear. That is to develop advanced solutions that support our customers’ success and to building partnerships that last.”
