Resources Help Overcome the Challenges of Hot Weather Concreting

The American Concrete Institute (ACI), a global authority on concrete knowledge, announces a robust suite of resources to ensure contractors and professionals are well-equipped to overcome the challenges of hot weather concreting. Significant risks are possible to the quality and durability of concrete structures during hot weather concreting. High temperatures, rapid evaporation, and increased risk of cracking can compromise structural integrity, requiring contractors to be prepared in advance to mitigate these effects.

“As summer construction ramps up, it’s vital that contractors are prepared to handle the complexities of hot weather concreting,” said Mike Tholen, ACI senior managing director, technical operations. “ACI’s comprehensive resources empower the industry to uphold the highest standards of safety, quality and efficiency, regardless of environmental challenges.”

To support the construction community, ACI provides a range of specialized resources designed to help professionals achieve superior results when working in hot weather. These include:

    • Technical Guidelines: Publications like ACI PRC-305-20 Guide to Hot Weather Concreting provide critical recommendations on planning, placement and curing techniques for maintaining concrete quality.
    • Online Learning: ACI delivers on-demand courses and webinars, ensuring access to high-quality training tailored to environmental challenges.
    • Free Online Education Presentations: Available to everyone, these presentations focus on specific topics in hot weather concreting.

Explore how ACI can support contractors and ensure project success even under the most demanding conditions. View all ACI hot weather concreting resources.
