Accoya USA has announced a significant step in its North American growth strategy: entering the Mexican market through Klinai, its first distributor in the country. The milestone means Accoya, the high-performance, sustainable wood renowned for its durability and dimensional stability, is now directly distributed in all three of North America’s largest markets: the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
Klinai, a family-owned company with over 45 years of experience in woodworking, has strong market knowledge and trusted relationships in the architectural and construction communities. As a leading supplier of outdoor laminated structural timber beams, columns, arches, and other non-structural elements such as cladding, decks, trellises, louvers, and pergolas, Klinai is well-positioned to showcase Accoya’s exceptional performance in structural and outdoor applications where durability and reliability are essential.
Customers are actively considering Accoya for exposed structures across a diverse range of projects, including flagship commercial buildings, offices, embassies, hotels, residences, and shopping centers. This reflects strong market interest in Accoya’s appearance, tactile quality, and suitability for Mexico’s mild, diverse climate.
Mexico’s wood construction market, valued at USD $269.6 billion in 2024 and expected to grow at a CAGR of 12%*, offers a major opportunity for Accoya’s ongoing global expansion. Klinai’s location also provides access to the Caribbean region, expanding the potential for regional growth.
“We’re pleased to partner with Klinai to bring Accoya to the dynamic Mexican market,” said Sergio Munhoz, sales director for Accoya USA. “Accoya sets a new standard for wood products, offering the performance and reliability needed to meet Mexico’s diverse climates and expanding construction sector. This October, in partnership with Klinai, Accoya will make its debut at Obra Blanca in Mexico City—an excellent opportunity to demonstrate its transformative potential to Mexico’s architecture community.”
Since the opening of the Accoya USA plant in Kingsport, Tennessee, in 2024, a joint venture between Accsys and Eastman Chemical Company, demand for Accoya has continued to increase across North America. Local production enhances customer service and product availability for customers in the region.
“We’re thrilled to partner with Accoya USA and introduce Accoya to our customers in Mexico,” addedAlbert Betancourt, managing partner at Klinai. “Accoya’s unmatched performance and sustainability credentials make it an ideal match for our market and climate, and we look forward to supporting specifiers from early design through to delivery.”
Accoya USA and Klinai will be showcasing at Obra Blanca Expo, Stand 1742, from October 14 to 16, 2025, in Mexico City.
