Chelsea Building Products, manufacturer of Everlast advanced composite siding, proudly celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, honoring the customers, partners, and employees who have fueled its success and shaped its legacy in the building materials industry.
The company marked the milestone with an open house event on Saturday, October 18, offering customers, partners, employees, and community members the opportunity to tour its Oakmont, Pennsylvania, manufacturing facility.
Founded in 1975 as the Poly-Tex Company, Chelsea Building Products evolved from a small extruder of PVC profiles for windows into a nationally recognized leader known for its advanced material science, product design, and commitment to customer success. Over five decades, the company has expanded its product portfolio to serve diverse markets with high-performance windows, doors, siding, and integrated building products that support modern construction needs.
“At Chelsea, we’re never satisfied with the status quo,” said Gary Hartman, vice president of sales and marketing at Chelsea Building Products. “These past 50 years have been a classic example of the American business dream: starting small, growing through innovation, and always delivering value to our customers. We look forward to continuing to expand our capabilities, pursue new opportunities, and bring fresh ideas to the market for another 50 years.”
Among the organization’s most notable achievements is the introduction of Everlast advanced composite siding, developed with a groundbreaking composite material that paved the way for an entirely new category of premium siding. Everlast siding combines a mineral composite substrate with a 100% acrylic capstock that yields the highest performing siding material in the industry—proudly made in Oakmont, Pennsylvania.
