3A Composites Americas Is Committed to Safety, Operational Excellence and Community Involvement

3A Composites Americas is celebrating a series of major achievements across its Americas manufacturing footprint, highlighting a profound commitment to safety, operational excellence and community involvement. The company is marking a significant milestone: its Statesville, N.C., plant has proudly maintained its OSHA Carolina Star safety certification for 25 consecutive years, setting a benchmark for the entire organization.

This extraordinary achievement is bolstered by two additional recognitions: the Governor’s Safety and Health Award for its Benton, Ky., facility, and the forthcoming Community Impact Award for the Glasgow, Kentucky team. These credits collectively represent the core values and intentional efforts of every 3A Composites Americas team member. Statesville: Setting the Benchmark for Safety

The Carolina Star Program recognizes leaders in occupational safety and health who implement exemplary management systems that go above and beyond standard compliance. For 25 years, our Statesville team has not only met but consistently exceeded these rigorous safety standards as part of our core values and manufacturing excellence principles, demonstrating the commitment to a safe workplace for everyone.

“The decision to pursue and maintain Star certification began decades ago and is rooted in our fundamental commitment to safety and each other,” explains Leda Ochoa, Statesville Plant Manager. “It’s about performing our daily tasks in a way that prioritizes the safety of everyone who enters our plant. Doing the right thing means keeping everyone safe and it aligns perfectly with our company’s values of integrity and accountability, reinforcing that safety always comes first and is non-negotiable.”

Nick Scheib, president and CEO, adds, “Statesville’s 25-year Star certification is an extraordinary accomplishment and an incredible example for our entire organization. Their commitment to safety directly supports operational excellence and our ability to deliver quality to our customers. I couldn’t be prouder of the Statesville team.”

The Statesville Way: A Culture of Continuous Improvement

The impact of this commitment to safety is clear in the plant’s impressive safety record. As an occupational safety and health ISO14001 and 45001 certified site, Statesville operations adhere to robust protocols. This approach has yielded truly remarkable numbers:

    • Nearly 1.5 million hours without a lost-time incident.
    • Over 2,500 days without a recordable lost-time incident.
    • A severity and incident rate of zero.

The success of Statesville’s safety program is largely due to the involvement of employees at every level. Safety isn’t only a set of rules dictated by management; it’s a cultural value. This commitment ensures that the safety culture continues and is easily embraced – and valued – by all employees.

With a safety-first environment, Statesville operates at its very best. Team members can focus their energy on quality and customer satisfaction, rather than being preoccupied with potential hazards. This dedication to safety also cultivates a workplace where everyone feels valued and establishes long term careers at 3A Composites in a partnership that strengthens the communities where we call home.

    Collective Excellence in the Americas

The Statesville milestone is complemented by further achievements across 3A Composites Americas, highlighting how an unwavering adherence to high standards is ingrained in the organization’s manufacturing culture and community engagement:

    • This level of success is powerfully demonstrated in Benton, Kentucky, which has recently been honored with the prestigious Governor’s Safety and Health Award. Like Statesville, this recognition highlights its exemplary record of working thousands of employee hour without a lost-time injury, underscoring a focus on rigorous, proactive safety management systems.
    • The company’s dedication extends beyond its facility gates into the communities it serves.

The Glasgow, Ky., location received the Community Impact Award at the recent Barren Inc. (Glasgow Chamber of Commerce) Industry Impact Awards Banquet on September 25, 2025. This award celebrates the Glasgow team’s involvement and positive contributions to their local community, reflecting the organization’s values in action.

A Standard of Trust and Future Distinction

Perhaps one of the most significant outcomes of Statesville’s consistent safety performance is that OSHA will no longer conduct routine onsite audits at the facility. This unprecedented level of trust, earned through decades of exemplary performance, is a direct result of a deeply embedded safety culture and ongoing safety practices.

This sustained success across the organization—from safety milestones that directly enhance employee wellbeing to community support that strengthens local relationships—underscores 3A Composites Americas’ commitment to quality and continuous improvement.

The achievements in Statesville, Benton and Glasgow inspire the organization to maintain these high standards as they continue to grow and serve customers.
