GMX Group, a provider of premium and sustainable building materials across North America, is expanding the Maximo brand from tropical hardwoods and thermally modified wood to now include Maximo Accoya. This strategic partnership with Accsys, the global leader in high-performance wood, will broaden Maximo brand’s portfolio to include advanced acetylated wood products with Maximo Accoya. The new line of decking will round out the brand’s outdoor living offerings, distributed through GMX’s wholesale division, Global Forest LBM.

The Maximo Accoya line blends two legacies: Maximo’s strong decking experience with thermally modified and hardwoods and Accoya’s high brand recognition and market demand for acetylated wood.

Available in three refined tones, Maximo Accoya offers broad appeal for both elegant residential and upscale commercial projects. With advanced wood color technology, Maximo Accoya’s Slate Grey is a pre-infused, UV-stable tone offering long-lasting visual consistency with no need for recoating. Inspired by the natural beauty of tropical hardwoods, the Ipe-Brown color is a proprietary tone developed by Maximo to offer a rich, natural appearance with easy care a valuable cost alternative. Milled in-house, the Natural color features a clean, rough-sawn yellow tone and gives designers and builders flexibility in finishing it to complement any project’s aesthetic.

Designed for those who expect more from wood, Maximo Accoya undergoes a scientifically proven acetylation process that modifies real wood at the molecular level to enhance its natural beauty and durability. It resists rot, fungi, and termites, endures extreme weather, and maintains clean lines and crisp edges over time. Unlike traditional lumber that requires tedious upkeep, Maximo Accoya needs only a simple wash with water and detergent once or twice a year. Featuring superior heat performance compared to synthetic decking, Maximo Accoya stays cool underfoot for comfortable outdoor living year-round. It’s also backed by an industry-leading 50-year warranty.

Sourced from fast-growing, responsibly managed forests, Maximo Accoya is fully recyclable and carries a lower carbon footprint than most alternatives. It’s an ideal choice for rooftop decks, modern architecture and coastal or poolside settings where lasting beauty and low-maintenance color consistency are essential.
