Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute Names 2026 PCI Design Awards Winners

San Francisco’s tallest affordable housing project, a striking addition to the skyline in Detroit, Mich., and a bridge providing a vital link in Philadelphia, Pa., are just a few of the compelling precast concrete projects that received 2026 PCI Design Awards, presented by the Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute.

Now in its 63rd year, the PCI Design Awards recognize the most creative and innovative uses of  precast concrete. Panels of engineers, architects, and precast concrete producers judge all submittals. The buildings and transportation categories are judged on aesthetic, structural, and versatility use; site, energy and operational efficiency, and risk reduction; and resiliency, such as structure durability, multi-hazard protection, and life safety and health.

Several projects are also honored with special awards. These are judged on similar criteria to the building and transportation projects, as well as additional requirements, including industry advancement, sustainable design, technology, and designs using all-precast concrete solutions. These are the All-Precast Concrete Solution Award, the Building Information Modeling (BIM) Award, the Harry H. Edwards Industry Advancement Award, and the Sustainable Design Award. New this year, the Structural Innovation Award recognizes a project for its outstanding structural achievement.

“The 2026 PCI Design Award winners have once again demonstrated that precast concrete is the most attractive, efficient, and resilient building solution for many of today’s projects,” said PCI President and CEO Bob Risser. “The precast concrete industry continues to supply the materials for building new structures and infrastructure projects that champion progress and innovation. Congratulations to the PCI Design Awards winners for driving innovation and inspiring future designs.”

Winning projects will be recognized on February 4 at the 2026 PCI Convention in Kansas City, Mo. PCI publications, including Ascent, PCI Journal, and ASPIRE magazines, will also feature the winning projects in future issues.
