Laminators’ AdaptaClad RS Achieves Expanded NFPA 285 Compliance

Laminators Incorporated has announced its AdaptaClad RS system has achieved expanded NFPA 285 compliance, marking a significant advancement in the system’s validated performance within fire-resistive wall assemblies.

Tested over rigid polyisocyanurate (polyiso) insulation, this expanded compliance provides architects, specifiers, and building professionals with increased confidence in specifying AdaptaClad RS as part of a complete, code-compliant exterior wall system.

This milestone underscores both the strength of the AdaptaClad RS system and the value of strategic collaboration. Laminators partnered with CLADIATOR, a manufacturer of thermally isolated cladding attachment systems, and Rmax, a division of Sika Corporation and a provider of polyiso insulation, to develop and validate a fully integrated assembly designed to meet today’s stringent fire performance requirements.

“Achieving expanded NFPA 285 compliance reinforces our commitment to delivering high-performance, code-compliant solutions for the evolving demands of the building envelope,” said Garrett Thompson, Vice President of Sales and Marketing. “It also reflects the importance of working alongside best-in-class partners to ensure system-level performance.”

NFPA 285 is a critical fire test standard that evaluates the fire propagation characteristics of exterior wall assemblies containing combustible components. Compliance is essential for many building types and increasingly complex wall designs.

With this latest achievement, Laminators continues to expand the capabilities of its AdaptaClad systems – providing greater design flexibility while maintaining the performance and safety standards required in today’s construction environment.
