The Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association (BHMA) gathered leadership and member companies for its 2026 Spring Meeting, held May 5-7 in Grand Rapids, Mich. Members participated in a variety of committee meetings, including technical, codes and government affairs sessions, while also engaging in networking opportunities and discussions on broader industry initiatives. Together, these conversations reinforced BHMA’s ongoing commitment to advancing quality, performance, and innovation across the builders hardware industry.

During the technical subcommittee meetings, BHMA members met to discuss the development and revisions of ANSI/BHMA standards. These standards are developed through a consensus-based process that brings together a wide range of industry participants to help ensure standards remain relevant, practical, and reflective of current market needs. Meetings, such as the BHMA Spring Meeting, are an essential part of that process, allowing committee members to review proposed revisions, address emerging challenges, and collaborate on future industry priorities.

    • A156.31 – Electric Strikes
    • A156.36 – Auxiliary Locks

The following standards have completed the revision cycle and have been/soon will be published:

    • A156.9 – Cabinet Hardware

BHMA members and industry participants interested in contributing to standards development are encouraged to complete the updated subcommittee participation form to ensure they continue receiving meeting invitations and committee communications. Interested participants can complete the Subcommittee Participation Form here.
