The Precast/Prestressed Concrete Institute (PCI) has selected JDG Associates as its executive search partner as the process continues to find the replacement for PCI President and CEO Bob Risser, who will retire early next year.
“We considered several firms, focusing on experience, industry understanding, search approach, and overall fit,” said PCI Chair Cheryl Lang. “JDG stood out for their strong track record in executive placements within technical, mission-driven organizations, as well as their clear and disciplined process.” The job description is posted on the JDG Associates website.
PCI Vice Chair Lloyd Kennedy is chairing the PCI CEO Search Committee, which is in the process of finalizing the search timeline and job description. The search committee includes seven other board members and PCI CFO Beth Taylor, who is a non-voting member. According to the tentative timeframe, a new president and CEO will begin by December 2026 and will work with Risser until Risser’s retirement becomes effective in Spring 2027.
“It has been an honor to serve as PCI’s president the past 11 years,” Risser said. “I am extraordinarily proud of what we have accomplished for PCI members and the precast, prestressed concrete industry. With dedicated volunteer members and incredible PCI staff, we have reached heights some didn’t think we could reach.
“Most notable was the publication of the first precast concrete code with ACI-PCI 319-25, but also in other areas that PCI members value, such as gaining International Accreditation Service accreditation for our plant certification program, increasing the quality and quantity of our education offerings, and working with our regional groups to gain market share for precast concrete. Along the way we have made many friends, and I’ve been thrilled to see the excitement and enthusiasm in our members. I want to thank all the PCI Chairs, Board members, and volunteers for the privilege to serve this great industry. I look forward to working with PCI leadership and staff to ensure a smooth transition to the next chapter of PCI.”
Risser, who announced his retirement in February, has led PCI since 2015.
