Therma-Tru has participated in its 10th build for Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors. The company donated entry and interior doors to a home for United States Marine Corps. Lance Corporal Josh Wege, which was gifted to the veteran at a key ceremony Tuesday, June 30 in Fond du Lac, Wis.

“Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors goes hand-in-hand with Therma-Tru’s mission to make homes better through security, performance and design,” said Jim Christopherson, Vice-President of Outdoors Sales at Fortune Brands Innovations.

Wege, who lost both legs in combat in Afghanistan, had previously resided in an apartment that lacked accessible features. His new home is fully accessible, with a zero-threshold entry.

“At these key ceremonies, our veterans are not just opening the door to their new home. They’re opening the door to their new life,” said Jared Allen, NFL Hall of Famer and Founder of the non-profit. “Every aspect of our homes is custom, and the team at Therma-Tru is dedicated to working with each of our veterans and their families to ensure that they are getting to select doors that will work for them. Having a zero-threshold entry is so important for achieving a universally accessible design.”

Therma-Tru has partnered with Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors since 2018. The company has also donated products to three other active projects this year: homes for Marine Corps. Seargent Saul Monroy in El Paso, Texas; Army Private First Class Phil Bauer in Marion, N.Y; and Army Staff Seargent Bradley Fasnacht in Hummelstown, Pa.

Founded in 2009, Jared Allen’s Homes for Wounded Warriors raises money to build and remodel mortgage-free, 100 percent handicap-accessible homes to suit the individual needs of United State military veterans who were injured in Iraq and Afghanistan. Learn more at homesforwoundedwarriors.com.
