Impact-rated Window Frame Is Suitable for High-wind Areas

ODL Inc. is expanding its door glass frame offering with the introduction of the Keystone Frame, a new impact-rated frame for areas that experience high winds.

Designed to give builders and homeowners peace of mind by delivering a trusted and secure entry solution, Keystone Impact-Rated Frame meets relevant building codes and standards in High Velocity Hurricane Zone (HVHZ) and wind borne debris (WBD) areas. The Keystone Frame will also meet Florida and Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) standards when installed as part of a complete impact-rated entry system. Keystone Impact-Rated Frame is made of high-performance PVC, making it lighter, and easier to install. The new frame features a cover design that hides the screws that are needed for installation and results in a more aesthetically pleasing finished product. Additionally, a structural adhesive is pre-applied to the frame, saving installers considerable time and giving the frame a clean finish that lasts over time.

Keystone Impact-Rated Frame is constructed with welded corners, eliminating leaks and improving the frame’s aesthetics. A co-extruded seal keeps debris and paint from collecting between the door and glass. The frame’s PVC material doesn’t require painting or finishing and will not fade or become discolored. Keystone Frame is corrosion-resistant—an important consideration for salty coastal environments.
